Everything about Rednal totally explained

Rednal is an area on the extreme south-western tip of Birmingham, England. It is near Longbridge (electorally, it's in the Longbridge Ward) and the Lickey Hills. The east of Rednal stands in the shadow of the huge Longbridge car factory, which was built some 30 years before most of the homes in Rednal.

Tolkien

J. R. R. Tolkien was living at Fern Cottage in Rednal, when his mother died there in 1904, when he was 12. He later recalled:
Recreation and education A large part of the area is covered by Cofton Park in the immediate south of the area. Within this is Lowhill Farm.
   To the north is Rednal Junior and Infants School.
There is one public house 'The Hare and Hounds'
